Using the site
Reading or using any page means you agree to the points below. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
What the numbers are
Spot prices come from gold-api.com. Charts and history use COMEX gold futures closes published through Yahoo Finance. The values on our pages are melt values: the gold content of an item multiplied by one of those prices. Headline figures refresh about once a minute while a page is open, and the whole site is rebuilt several times a day, so a figure can lag the market or contain errors. Treat every number as a reference, not as a quote, an offer or the sole basis for a deal, and confirm live pricing with whoever you are dealing with.
If a data source goes down
When a feed fails we keep showing the last good figures together with their original timestamp, instead of leaving a blank or guessing. Always read the timestamp next to a price.
Calculator results
The calculator does arithmetic on the weight and karat you give it. We cannot weigh, test or authenticate your items, so its answer estimates metal content only. It is not an appraisal or an offer, buyers pay differently, and many pieces are worth more than their melt value. Melting an item cannot be undone.

How we are paid
